a routine scouting mission takes a turn for the worse when the plane experiences engine trouble over water… i think a too-forward center of gravity caused the rc plane to require more power to keep it in the air than usual. to compensate for this i subtracted 20% from my calculated flight time. it wasn’t enough… 110521_cub-in-the-drink-boat-club

I was using a thomas long range system for RC controlls .5w and 5.8G video rx tx with 31dbi grid antenna and a 8dbi patch. this video was recorded on the plane with a sony bloggie HD cam at 720p 60 frames a second .
